We’ve been visiting the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry every year since 2011 and it remains one of the highlights of our calendar, and this year was no exception with lights choreographed to music, interactive displays and a stunning projection over Loch Dunmore.
Visiting the Enchanted Forest is one of our favourite annual traditions, and we always enjoy wandering around the woods hand-in-hand, snapping photos and sipping the first mulled wine of the season, but my husband and I still always pause at the spot where we got engaged here and enjoy reminiscing about our many other visits to the Enchanted Forest over the years.
As lovely as it is having a little adventure together, staying in a hotel and not having to worry about cooking or washing up, we’re also happy to be reunited with our cat Mara when we return home. It was just over three years ago that we adopted Mara, and although we don’t know her actual age, a recent trip to the vet to have her teeth cleaned and one extraction reminded us that she is getting older, but fortunately she remains healthy, playful and full of purrs.
Have a lovely week! X
The forest looks amazing. I know what you mean though…It’s lovely to have a break away but I love coming home to Boris too. Mara is so cute 😊

Oh wow – that does look fabulous! I love walking the woods at night… with mulled wine too even better. Your pussycat looks so pretty in her box!

It’s a lovely experience, good excuse to get outdoors even when the evenings are darker and the weather is cooler. I think Mara’s a wee cutie-pie, but I’m biased. ☺

Some cats teeth just fall out early. Our pair both lost a fang a few years old, apparently it is genetic, so she may not be so old!

That’s good to know. Mara seems prone to plaque build up so we’re going to attempt to start brushing her teeth once her stitches have dissolved.

My vet said either we have to knock our cats out to have their teeth cleaned or we accept that they will loose a few teeth, which wont cause them trouble if they eat packet food. I think regular anesthetics are very bad for anyone and sometimes vets are just trying to make money. Both our brother and sister cats are in fine health, their breath doesnt smell , they are just minus a tooth each!

Yeah, I’d rather avoid putting Mara under general anaesthetic again if we can avoid it, twice in as many years isn’t good.
